Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Greener Living collects when you use this store, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. It was last updated on 28 August 2026.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
You can browse this store without telling us anything about yourself. We collect personal information at three points:
- When you place an order. Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address, along with what you bought and what you paid. We need all of it to take the order, deliver it and deal with any problem afterwards.
- When you sign up for our emails. Your email address, and the date you consented.
- When you contact us. Whatever you choose to put in the message.
We also collect ordinary technical information as you browse: pages viewed, the device and browser you used, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
We never see your card details
Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page. Your card number does not pass through this website and we never store it. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and a reference we can use to find the transaction.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that make the store work:
- Our payment processor, which handles the transaction.
- Our website and database infrastructure providers, which host the site and store order records. Our order database is located in Sydney, so those records are held in Australia.
- Our communications provider, which sends order confirmations and replies to your enquiries.
- Advertising and analytics services, which measure which advertising leads to sales. See below.
- Our fulfilment and delivery partners, who need your name and address to get the parcel to you.
Some of these providers are located overseas, or store and process data on servers outside Australia. That means your personal information may be handled in another country, under that country's laws. By providing your information you consent to that overseas disclosure. We take reasonable steps to use providers that handle personal information to an appropriate standard.
We can tell you which providers we use for any of the above. Ask through our contact form.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to enforce our terms.
Advertising and measurement
We use advertising measurement tools from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, to understand which advertising leads to sales. When you take an action such as viewing a product or completing a purchase, we send Meta an event describing it. Where that event includes contact details, they are cryptographically hashed before they leave our systems, so Meta receives a one-way fingerprint, not your email address or phone number in readable form.
You can limit how this information is used from your Meta ad settings, and most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking them will not stop you shopping here.
Marketing emails
We only email marketing to people who have asked for it. Buying something is not consent to marketing. The two are kept separate, as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) requires. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us directly.
Order confirmations and replies to your enquiries are not marketing, and you will receive those whether or not you subscribe.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept while we may need them for the order itself, for warranty and returns, and for the period Australian tax and business-record law requires. Email subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries are kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.
Your choices
You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Ask through our contact form or by email at support@greenerlivingstore.co and we will respond within a reasonable time.
There are limits: we may need to keep enough of an order record to meet our tax and record-keeping obligations, even after a deletion request.
Children
This store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, payments are handled entirely by Stripe, and access to order data is restricted to the people who need it to fulfil orders. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we take the handling of your information seriously.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first through our contact form or by email at support@greenerlivingstore.co, and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
